Most applications go through the AusCheck background check quickly. However, some applications may take longer due to factors like criminal history and security checks. Once an issuing body, organising body or responsible entity endorses an application and verifies the applicant’s identity, it is sent to partner agencies. The results are then returned to AusCheck. It’s recommended to submit applications at least 6 to 8 weeks before they are needed to allow enough time for background checks, processing, card creation and dispatch.
If applicants want an update on their application, they should contact the issuing body, organising body or responsible entity that they applied through.
