About the verifier role

A verifier confirms an applicant's identity in an in-person appointment.

Before you start

Your employer or organisation may ask you to become a verifier.

Before you start, you must have a background check in the scheme or program you'll be a verifier for. This means you need either:

  • a valid ASIC, MSIC or Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Identification Card (NSSIC)
  • a suitable critical infrastructure or MNE background check.

Once you have the relevant background check, you need to complete the online AusCheck verifier course for your scheme or program.

To request access to the online verifier course, email AusCheck@homeaffairs.gov.au. Include which scheme or program course you want to do.
